We set off on the bikes about 8am to do a complete lap of Lake BG. We had a lovely relaxed ride and stopped at Wildflour Kingston, a coffee shop/bakery we had been to before for mornos. We had met up with R&T previously, and while the coffee and Greg's pepper steak pie were just as good, Wendy's escargot pastry tasted like it was from two days ago; although it filled the gap and provided sustenance.
We went home via the hospital to visit Dad who was sitting up out of bed stirring a cup of tea. Unfortunately for him, an elderly lady had moved into the bed next to him and there were three noisy visitors who made talking almost impossible. Luckily, Dad's hearing aides were on charge and not in his ears, or he would have gone mad. How people can be so inconsiderate in a hospital is beyond us. Perhaps they were used to being in a private hospital in their own room, who knows?
Back home for lunch then a well-deserved nana nap. We ventured out again, in the car this time, to help Mum find suitable bedside tables. We visited at least six different furniture places all within 2km of each other at Fyshwick. We thought we had found the 'one', until we got home and Greg did some online searching and found some others. Time will tell.
Wendy and Mum cooked dinner - eye fillet steak with roast veggies, washed down with a glass of wine. We are both a bit tired tonight, so will hopefully sleep well.
Aqua Park on Lake BG, Canberra
As Greg finished taking the pic of the Aqua Park, he turned around to look at the huge gum tree next to him (he felt he was being watched) and saw this little beauty. We know they cause a lot of mayhem running around on roofs and in ceilings, but who wouldn't love this cute little face?
