Had our first holiday sleep in this morning - 6:30am! Wendy was going to do a walk but Greg suggested we do a ride to see the new suburb that has sprung up like a mushroom not far from us. For some reason, we didn't get going until 10am when the temp was already 27 deg C! The new suburb, Whitlam, is a mix of houses (medium size to gigantic), units, and apartments. The suburb is still growing with another subdivision being built as we speak. Greg then took Wendy for a ride on Coppin's Crossing Road, what an adventure that was. They are building a beautiful new bridge which cuts out the steep old crossing point, so the old causeway and road have been somewhat neglected. There's little to no verge and the decent and rather steep climb out of the valley, with a double white line the whole way was a challenge. Anyway, we made it to the top of the other side without incident. When we got to a certain point in the ride, Greg said he wanted to go further to explore his old haunts which are on that side of town. Wendy made her own way home. There was a nice headwind that kept her 'cool' despite the 35 deg C! Fortunately, it was a dry heat, but still quite energy sapping. Wendy got home about 12pm. Greg eventually returned about 2pm. Fortunately, Jojo, Carla, and Henry had come to visit after visiting Rob in hospital and they put the aircon on straight away and cooled the house down nicely.
After a late lunch, Greg and Tinkie went to visit Rob in hospital and noted a marked improvement from yesterday, he had been up for a shower and was actually walking around, albeit with a wheelie walker, so we are very hopeful that it continues that way. We still don't have an estimated discharge date though. While they were gone, Wendy prepared dinner - spag bog, and it was yummo! Teeth, shower, then bed.
