Too nice not to go for a ride this morning and we were on the bikes and on our way to meet up with Bob by 8:20am. Bob was there waiting for us and we headed off to Woden. It was just a perfect day to be outside, a little cool to start with, warming up later on. We arrived at Woden/Phillip to find all the usual coffee haunts closed, so headed in the direction of the Town Centre and found San Churro Chocolateria. We discovered that they served good coffee but not so good muffins. Shoulda gone to Maccas for coffee and a hash brown! As you can see from the ride route, we came home a different way so it would be a nice loop. On the way we stopped at The Australian Mint for a wander in the shop. There's some really artistic coins available these day, but as we are not collectors we didn't purchase anything. The last time we visited the Mint was Dec 1997 or Jan 1998. They have certainly expanded the tourist aspect of the place and have done a fantastic job on the various displays and information. Of course the mint itself wasn't operating as it was closed down for the festive season. I hope we don't run out of coins before they get back to work! Pretty sure there's a lot less real money used these days. We believe that it is about 80% less than it was a few years ago. We also stopped in at Bunnings for a few more plumbing supplies before arriving at home just after midday.

Greg got stuck into fixing the drainage issue while Wendy had lunch and a little nana nap. After completing all the work he wanted to, Greg had lunch then joined Wendy for a nana nap.

We went to Dale and Suz's again for another informal dinner. We ate an amazing fillet steak, (cooked whole on the bbq) roast potatoes and sweet pots, and a lovely green salad. That was followed by some very delicious homemade ice cream (Christmas pudding & ice cream) that didn't get consumed on Christmas day because we were all too full. Another great night with the D&SB family. Only got to bed about 10pm.
