Day 15: Thu 25 Dec - Canberra

11-28 deg C, fine and sunny

Ride G: 14km; total: 368km
Walk G: 3km: total: 69km
Walk W: 4km; total: 60km

Wendy had a little sleep-in while Greg went for a ride to position keys so that cars could be driven to the right house. On the way back he attended Church at Page Baptist. It was a lovely Christmas service which was well attended. If only we could get crowds like that every Sunday. After breakfast, Wendy went over to prepare some starters for Dale & Suz - brie pieces wrapped in prosciutto - yummo! The other starter was a marinated slab of salmon cooked in honey. After chopping the brie and wrapping them (deceptively time consuming), Wendy went home to freshen up for the afternoon Christmas lunch. And what a feast it was. The main meal was ham, with de-boned stuffed and rolled turkey (all done by Dale), two different salads, potato bake and gravy. The meats were cooked to perfection in the woodfired pizza oven. Dessert was a very delicious trifle.

After lunch, we got into playing games, all organised by the kids. All the games were able to be played by everyone, regardless of your mobility or strength. The kids were particularly impressed by Beebee and Pops doing the candy cane game. It was a relatively early night. Most people were not quite over the Christmas Eve party.

Ben - the winner of the candy cane game

You had to roll a Christmas bauble along the table and where it stopped (really hard to get it to stop) that was the prize. You had three throws and then had to sit out until everyone else had a turn. Everyone won a prize.

Pops playing the candy cane game

You have 60 seconds to grab as many canes you can and deposit them in the cup. No hands were allowed on the table, except for BB and Pops

Wrap-up

Wrap-up We are so pleased we stayed with Mum and Dad, instead of taking the van, as it turned out to be lovely, quality time. It also mean...
